What is the treatment for ovarian cysts?
I had 2 ultrasounds done because I was complaining of pelvic pain…I went for a transvaginal and an abdominal ultrasound. It turns out that I have an ovarian cyst. What my question is is, what is the treatment for them. *I’m 18, virgin.
All answers appreciated!
Thanks

My
name is Lesli Paterson, right now I live in Oregon, I have 2 kids a 4
year old buy and a 2 year old.

you need to get them removed most of the time.
Most the time there is no treatment, they usually go away on their own
there is a small risk of them getting large and causing damage when they burst but that is a small chance
If they do get too big then they can be surgically removed
Treatment ranges from doing nothing to surgery to remove the cysts. It will depend upon their size and composition, and whether they are malignant (unlikely) or growing. Chances are they will go away on their own.
Unlike the virginity. I can help you with that.
pills are perfect but seek a doctore first!
it could be benign or malignant, just ask your dr. if it needs to be removed and biopsied^^ to rule out CA
go to this website its what doctor told my mum to read if she had anymore questions to her treatment …..

My sister had these when she was 14 SO bad she would pass out from the pain . ( she is 39 now) There are several ways that they treat them and I found you some links to help you . Feel better.
Having them will not affect the status of your virginity.
Been there!
Usually, they actually do nothing. They’ll probably do a repeat ultrasound in 6 weeks to check to see if its changed. Most cysts naturally shrink and go away on their own. Especially if its a “functional” cyst.
If they decide it does need to be removed, they’ll do laparoscopic surgery where they make 3 tiny incisions in your abdomen (one in your belly button, one below your pubic hair line, and one across your panty waistband line. The surgery takes less than an hour and they’ll send you home the same day. For about a week you’ll have pain sitting up, laughing, etc, but recovery is really quick.
I was a virgin when I had a huge ovarian cyst discovered (tennis ball sized). Sadly, my cyst was big enough that it twisted my ovary and cut off the blood supply so I needed my ovary removed as well. HOWEVER, that is really rare and you’d be in excruciating, take me to the ER because I think I’m dying pain, if that were the case.
Good luck! Most women get them and don’t even know it.
Going forward, your doctor might recommend you take birth control to decrease your risk of having cysts in the future.
Depends on size, or whether there is more than one.
Pretty much, nothing. They are fairly common. Most usually go away on their own.
Birth control pills may be helpful to regulate the menstrual cycle, prevent the formation of follicles that can turn into cysts, and possibly reduce the size of an existing cyst.
If they are large, or causing lots of problems, then surgery to try and remove the cyst, and some times in sever cases the entire ovary, is needed.
Talk to your doctor as they will recommend the best course of action based on the test results you’ve gotten.
Edit:
And cysts aren’t caused by any kind of sexual activity.
